People often ask us what a private dining experience actually looks like. Here is the honest answer.
We confirm your group size, menu choice and any dietary requirements a day or two before. We plan the quantities, source the ingredients that morning from local markets in Bali, and prepare what we can in advance. By the time we arrive at your villa, everything is organised.
We arrive around an hour before the meal. We set up quietly in your kitchen and dining area. You don't need to do anything. We bring all our own equipment, ingredients and serving items. The most you might notice is a pleasant smell starting to come from the kitchen.
Before the meal begins, Yuli offers guests a seasonal jamu — a traditional Indonesian herbal drink made from turmeric, ginger and tamarind, sometimes with a little honey and lime. It is how an Indonesian host welcomes guests into their home. It sets the tone for the whole evening.
Each course arrives with a short story. Yuli explains where the dish comes from, which part of Indonesia inspired it, and sometimes who taught her to make it. It is not a lecture — it is the kind of conversation you have around a family table. The food is generous. The pacing is unhurried.
Each of our three menus — the Signature, the Coastal and the Garden Journey — follows a progression from light to deep. Welcome snacks, a starter, a main with several components and a sweet to finish. View the full menus here.
We clear up completely. When we leave, your villa is exactly as we found it — clean, quiet and yours again. What stays is the memory of the evening.
The whole experience — from our arrival to the time we leave — is usually around three hours. The meal itself takes about two. We always move at the pace of the table.
Tell us your date, your villa and how many guests. We reply personally within a few hours.
